How do I earn points?

There’s a variety of ways you can earn points. Here's how:

Purchase products in-store and online: $1 = 1 point.
Get out there in nature— hike, trail run, or take a moment in nature to listen to native birds. Log into the Members’ Hub to view the full list: 1 activity = 10 points.
Complete your profile: 10 points
Take our exclusive surveys: Up to 10 points

How do I earn points from making a purchase?

Easy-peasy, $1 spent online or in-store at Kathmandu = 1 point

When shopping in-store, let us know you’re an Out There Rewards Member during check-out and we'll add the purchase to your account. You’ll need to give us your email or membership number.

If you’re shopping online, just make sure you’re logged into your Out There Rewards Account prior to checking out.

All items are eligible for points, except for our gift cards, shipping, and postage.

You will not receive points for a purchase, or portion of a purchase, made using rewards vouchers or birthday vouchers (including Summit Club rewards or birthday vouchers) up to the value of that voucher. For example, if you purchase an item for $100 and part of the purchase is paid for using a $10 annual rewards voucher, you will receive 90 points.

How do I earn points from non-purchase activity?

Earning points without making a purchase sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it’s not. Here’s how:

Out There Activities: Earn points by logging an Out There activity on the Members’ Hub — log into your account and enter your activity in the Members’ Hub. 1 activity = 10 points — pretty sweet, right?
Please note that there’s a limit on Out There Activity points — Members and Level 1 can log three activities per calendar quarter (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec). Levels 2-3 can log six activities per calendar quarter.
Members’ Hub Activities: Earn points by completing different tasks within the Members’ Hub — like completing your profile, filling in your birthday, and telling us what your interests are. More tasks will be added, so check back in frequently to earn more.

Can I get points from buying gift cards?

No, buying gift cards won’t count toward your points balance. However, you will earn points if you buy with a gift card (as long as you let us know you’re an Out There Rewards member). Gift receivers, rejoice!

Can I earn points from purchases made at marketplaces such as The Iconic?

Nope, sorry! Purchases made on marketplace websites such as eBay, TradeMe, and The Iconic will not contribute to your points balance.

How do I find out how many points I’ve earned?

Easy — login to the Members’ Hub online, head to ‘Your Points’, and select ‘Points History’.

When will my points balance get updated?

Our team will be working like busy bees to get your points from purchases and activities updated within 48 hours. If you think you’re missing points, get in touch with us here.

Do my points expire with Out There Rewards?

Yes, your points expire 12 months from the date they were earned.
